Colorado Minimum Wage DropsBy Ted Olsen In our October 2009 newsletter, we reported that the Colorado minimum wage might be reduced. The Colorado Division of Labor adopted such a reduction, and effective as of January 1, 2010, the State's minimum wage was cut from $7.28/hour to $7.24/hour. This was due to a State constitutional provision calling for the annual adjustment of the minimum wage, and deflation in Colorado during 2009. The federal minimum wage ($7.25/hour) is unaffected by this move. Sherman & Howard has prepared this advisory to provide general information on recent legal developments that may be of interest.
