Sherman & Howard/Swendseid & Stern Continue Strong Showing In Quarterly National Bond Counsel Rankings

October 21, 2009  - For the third quarter of 2009, the law firm of Sherman & Howard/Swendseid & Stern* ranked fifth in the nation as bond counsel in the competitive sale category (the firm finished first in the third quarter of 2008) and fifth in the nation as disclosure counsel (up from seventh in the third quarter of 2008). This ranking is based on the total par amount of all 2009 bond offerings through September 30, according to the most recent rankings released by Thomson Reuters.

In the same report, Thompson Reuters also provided rankings related to bond activity generated by the 2009 Stimulus Plan. Sherman & Howard ranked ninth in the nation as bond counsel and fifth in the nation as disclosure counsel on stimulus-related bond issues during this time period. The types of bonds included this category were Build America Bonds, Qualified School Construction Bonds, Qualified Zone Academy Bonds and Recovery Zone Economic Development Bonds.**
